Rutland Cemetery Association, Inc.

The Rutland Cemetery Association was organized and incorporated on August 6, 1970 as a non-profit corporation with the purpose to establish, operate and maintain the Rutland Cemetery. The Rutland City Council adopted a resolution on October 5, 1970, granting the Cemetery Association the power and control and upkeep of the Rutland Cemetery. The Rutland Cemetery Association was empowered with the proper care, upkeep, maintenance and improvement of the Rutland Cemetery at the expense of the Association. The resolution can be revoked by the City Council at its discretion, by giving the Association proper and timely notice of its intention to do so. The Rutland Cemetery Asosciation may, at any time, turn back the operation of the Rutland Cemetery to the City of Rutland if it feels it no longer can handle the operation of the cemetery, and by giving the City proper and timely notice of its intention to do so.
